"Eight years ago I signed up for a yoga series geared toward deaf practitioners. Jacquie was the teacher. Since that first class Jacquie has been my teacher. I have hardly missed a class or workshop that she has taught. Jacquie brought yoga into my life in a very profound and deep way and I am forever changed! With encouragement she has taught me the deeper aspects of the practice by giving me “extra written” instruction through e-mail or other written materials which I cherish and continue to study from. I am grateful to her as my teacher and now friend."

"Jacquie's Yin class is magical. I'm not quire sure how else to put it! Each class is a journey into the deepest muscles of our bodies and the deepest parts of our soul. Jacquie somehow always has the perfect poem or story to inspire and encourage us ... and also to distract us while we are holding those loooooong poses! She is so knowledgeable about the physiology of what we're doing, and so helpful in modifying the poses for each of our individual bodies; we are always challenged, but always supported. I always leave class feeling so relaxed and like I'm walking on a cloud!"

“Jacquie embodies the essence of yoga.  Her graciousness towards everyone in her class belies her fierce intellect that electrifies the classes she creates.  Jacquie doesn't "teach," but rather leads mini retreats within each of her classes... she takes her students on a journey with a masterful command of the sutras, prana, all the yoga jargon one could muster but with the humor and humbleness of a true zen master.  You are taken care of when you enter a class led by Jacquie... she appears very casual in her approach and yet she knows more than anyone in the room combined.  Did I mention the great workout for body _and_ mind? And... she's fun and has the best music.  Ever.  I never knew that yoga teachers could be called artists until I started taking vinyasa class with Jacquie.  As her repertoire expands to include more subtle variations of yoga it only adds to the wealth of her expertise.  I don't even like yin, but I'd take anything she teaches.  She's that good and she laughs at herself, too.“
